Are you going to take one step closer to your ikigai (= your passion) this year?

It’s a new year! What exciting things are you planning for in 2019?

Ikigai Connections took a little break over the holidays, and now it’s time to party. There is much in store for this year, and I can’t wait to roll my ideas out.

I will continue to publish weekly blog posts on Thursdays, and will expand my topics to ones that are helpful for anyone looking to work in a Japanese setting. If there is a topic that you’d like me to write about, please let me know here

If anyone is interested in sharing their Senpai Success Story, I would love to feature you so that my readers can see the many ways professionals can use their Japanese language and cultural experience in a job.

The 3rd annual Japanese Job Fair for southeast Michigan is coming up on January 26, 2019 at the Sheraton Hotel in Novi. I’ve written a pretty detailed blog post on why you should attend here

My big goal is coming to fruition… In March 2019 (a Saturday TBD), I will have a one-day training seminar for those who are Japan lovers and want to use their language/cultural skills in a career. It’ll be focused on Japanese business manners, how to find your ikigai, how to start a job search, how to polish your language and business skills, and how to prepare for an interview. There will be breakout sessions and Q&A time for your specific situation. More details coming soon – but if you’re interested, please contact Kasia to get on the VIP list.

I have more ideas, but I’ve learned over time that it’s best to proceed slowly but surely. Do you know the phrase 二兎を追う者は一兎をも得ず (ni to wo ou mono ha itto wo mo ezu)? “If you run after two hares, you will catch neither.” Wise advice…

On that note, I shall thank you for being a reader of my blog and supporter of my ideas. I love feedback, so please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or comments via this contact form. Please also find Ikigai Connections on your favorite social media platform and let me know what you’d like to hear about!

これからもどうぞよろしくお願い致します。Thank you!
